2023 Winter Season

St Albans Park Pitch Orientation

Welcome to St Albans Park, home of St Albans Shirley FC

St Albans Park is situated on the north side of Edward Avenue, St Albans. Google Maps

There is dedicated parking along Edward Ave, with additional spots on Barbadoes Street to the east, and Forfar Street to the west. Please be respectful of our local residents when parking up at our home ground.

The pavillion houses changing rooms on its north side, as well as two public toilets near the basketball court to the west.

We actively manage our pristine playing surfaces and ask that you observe a few simple rules when playing at St Albans Park:

There is ample space to the side of each pitch for warm-up activities to take place. Please warm up off the pitch until the game is about to begin, in order to preserve the playing surface for as long as possible throughout the season.

We are also asked to avoid using the artificial cricket pitches wherever possible, especially when wearing studded boots.

Remember climbing or swinging on goals is dangerous and can damage the goals themselves. We ask that visiting parents are vigilant in preventing young players from endangering themselves and others in this way.

We hope you thouroughly enjoy your visit to St Albans Park and look forward to welcoming you in the near future.

The Mainland Football Winter Season runs May to September

During February and March, St Albans Shirley FC hold a series of football festivals at our home ground on St Albans Park. These training sessions are open to everyone and will assist our coaches and managers in allocating players to teams. If you are looking to try out for an SASFC team, simply register for an Open Training session at the bottom of the page, or click here to find out more

Players born between 2015 and 2019 take part in our in-house, all-year-round Friday afternoon sessions at English Park. Run by qualified coaches and overseen by our awesome professional coaching team, we believe this is the one of the best early years programmes in the country. Programmes run in line with the school terms. Winter season is particularly popular; split into Terms 2 and 3, early registration ahead of each term is highly recommended. Find out more

Players born between 2011 and 2014 are allocated into teams and play against other clubs in the Mainland Junior Football competition throughout the winter season. Grading is held in the form of Open Training grading events in late February and early March each year. For Junior players the emphasis is on having fun, first and foremost; players are encouraged to join teams with friends and schoolmates and all programme activity is strongly player-centred. Find out more
