SASFC ring the changes for the 2022 Mainland Football Winter Season

Registrations opened today for the SASFC 2022 Mainland Football Winter Season, following the traditionally quiet December/January off season. In fact the club has been anything but quiet this summer, making some significant changes to our Youth and Senior player programmes, web presence – and the registration process itself.

Club registration had already seen some changes back in 2020, prior to which members were asked to navigate their enrolment using a MyCOMET login, an often confusing and time-consuming process for players and club admins alike. The SAS Club Shop was launched to simplify the registration experience, offering easy enrolment along with a range of club merchandise and playing kit, with the club handling the COMET side of things on players’ behalf.

While the shop remains the SAS merch outlet of choice for now, for 2022 we have rolled out a new, website-based, secure, COMET-integrated registration process that offers a range of improvements and benefits for club and players alike. You can register today for the 2022 Mainland Winter Season: just click here and get your website login.

Also new for 2022: SASFC player pathways will expand significantly with the launch of the 2022 Winter Season, as the club implement an agreement reached with Coastal Spirit FC to join forces across the competitive Youth and Senior spaces. Teams competing at the highest regional and national levels under the joint Coastal SAS badge will be selected following pre-season Open Training sessions during February.

Players intereseted in trying out for Coastal SAS Youth Canterbury Development League (CDL), Womens Premier League (WPL), Canterbury Womens Championship League (CWCL), Mens Canterbury Premier League and Southern League squads should register for trials at the Coastal Spirit website right away.

For younger players, the awesome SASFC Junior programme will continue as it has in previous years, with Open Training sessions taking place on the fabulous turf at St Albans Park in early March. Dates, times and registration info is available on our Junior Football page right now. All players are welcome, irrespective of where you played last season.

Further details, registration and info on all grades is available now at the new SASFC website.

We look forward to seeing you again really soon!
